What Makes a Senior Move Different

Downsizing decisions come first. Going from a house to a one-bedroom suite means most of the furniture cannot come. We measure the new suite, work from the residence floor plan, and help you decide what fits before moving day, so nothing gets carried twice.

The new place has rules. Retirement residences and strata buildings have move-in windows, elevator bookings, loading-bay limits and insurance paperwork. We handle that in advance.

One trip, fully set up. We do not leave a senior in a room full of boxes. Beds are made, the TV is plugged in, the kettle is on the counter and the bathroom is usable before we go.

Nothing gets rushed. Our crews are briefed to slow down, explain what they are doing, and check in before anything is packed or discarded.

Home to a retirement residence or assisted living. Coordinated with the residence move-in team and elevator schedule.

Hospital or rehab discharge to home. Often on short notice, often needing a hospital bed, commode or lift in place before the patient arrives. We can do the move and the equipment setup on the same visit.

Moving in with family. Clearing a room, moving a parent's furniture in, and taking the rest to storage or donation.

Free basic coverage and cargo insurance are included on every move. We also run Must Medical Equipment, so if the move needs a hospital bed, a walker, a commode or a lift chair, we can supply, deliver and install it at the same time. Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should we book a senior move?

Two to three weeks is ideal, because retirement residences book move-in slots in advance. We also take same-day and next-day moves for hospital discharges when we have a crew free.

Can you help decide what to keep?

Yes. We can walk the home with you, measure against the new floor plan, and sort items into keep, family, donate and dispose. You make every decision; we do the lifting.

Do you move into retirement residences and care homes?

Regularly. We are used to move-in windows, elevator bookings, service entrances and the certificate of insurance most residences ask for.

Can you set up a hospital bed or mobility equipment at the same time?

Yes. Through Must Medical Equipment we supply, deliver, assemble and install hospital beds, patient lifts, mobility scooters, lift chairs, commodes, walkers and bathroom safety equipment, on the same visit as the move if you want.

What happens to furniture that does not fit?

We can deliver it to family, take it to storage, drop it at a donation partner, or dispose of it responsibly. Tell us which, and we handle it on the same day.
